Saint Lucia Ministry of Education closes schools due to poor weather conditions

St. LUCIA: The Ministry of Education has made the decision to close all schools for Monday, June 27, 2022, due to bad weather.

Director of Education Fiona Philip-Mayer said the decision to suspend school was to ensure everyone’s well-being and safety.

“We confirm that we have no school today. The public would have noticed that we had rain all night, so we have to assess the schools because in some cases we had flooding.

“We liaised with the St Lucia Met Office, the National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO) and the Office of the Minister of Education.”

“Please note that regional exams, including the CAPE, continue on a daily basis. For our students taking the CAPE exam, we wish you all the best as you make your way safely to the exam centers with the support of your parents. »

The Ministry encourages everyone to stay safe during this rainy period.
